Chapter 18 – Diet

Proper Food

#350. Good, ripe, undecayed fruit is a thing for which we should thank the Lord, for it is beneficial to health.—Unpublished Testimonies, November 5, 1896. {HL 79.2}

Preparation of Food

#354. In the preparation of food, the golden rays of light are to be kept shining, teaching those who sit at the table how to live.—Unpublished Testimonies, August 12, 1896. {HL 79.6}


  1. If you are not currently on a 2-meal/day plan, pick 2 days (between Wednesday and Saturday) to eat only 2 meals during the day, at least 5 hours apart, with no snacks between meals.
  2. Pick 3 days this week (between Wednesday and Saturday) to take 1 activated charcoal tablet/capsule each day. Log the exact day/time it was taken and the exact day/time you see it excreted in a bowel movement.
  3. Log your meals (“as is”) from Sunday, September 12th, to Sabbath (Saturday), September 18th:
    a) What you eat,
    b) How much of each thing you eat, and
    c) What time to what time you eat it.
  4. Test/adjust your new schedule to identify any areas where there may be room for improvement :-)
